La Vuelta a España is one of the three Grand Tours of professional cycling, alongside the Tour de France and the Giro d’Italia .  It began in 1935 when the first stage rolled out of Madrid’s Puerta de Hierro and headed for Valladolid ; that inaugural edition comprised 14 stages and finished at Madrid’s Casa de Campo .  Now held every late summer, the race spans three weeks of varied Spanish (and sometimes foreign) terrain—flat sprinter’s stages, rolling hills and notorious mountain ascents—drawing the world’s best riders and millions of passionate fans .  The race has grown into more than a sporting event: La Vuelta’s organisers are now emphasising sustainability and social impact through the La Vuelta es Más initiative, a programme promoting cycling for all, social solidarity, environmental stewardship and tourism .


4KAAD x La Vuelta: a partnership built on innovation
